FAT- Foods and Travels

If you are burnt cheesecake lover, you will definitely heard about Nippori, which has sold more than 10,000 burnt cheesecake during movement control period (MCO). Nippori, first introduce itself in 2016 by serving japanese food at Empire Damansara.

This year in October, Nippori diversify their business into Japanese Western fusion dish by opening a restaurant name Nippori Bistro at Petaling Jaya. According to the menu, you will able to find traditional Japanese breakfast consisting rice to the commonly eaten English breakfast, Japanese donburi and Pizza. They also serve varieties of home-baked pastries and cake.

Let’s go into food right now.
Unstoppable Avo - RM32
This Unstoppable Avo consists on fine cut crab meat , diced avocado mixed with mayonnaise, wasabi, spring onion and tobiko wrapped with crispy seasweed. Like the name indicate once I start its unstoappable. I like it very much.
Deep Sea Konbu- RM39
It is one of the chef recommendations. Heavy cream sauce base with melted deep sea seaweed and assorted seafood cooked with spaghetti topped with crispy seaweed. Personally, nothing special about this dish but the taste is nice and the seafood is fresh. However, the portion is small according to my friend.
Tofu Minced Chicken - RM30
We also ordered their dontoburi, which is a Japanese rice bowl dish consisting of fish/meat/vegetable or other ingredients severed over steamed rice. Usually dontoburi will served on the oversized rice bowl. Among the 3 available option, we go for tofu minced chicken (picture shown above). According to them, the tofu minced chicken is a blend of healthy minced chicken breast with Japanese tofu. This dish to serve with their home made sweet sauce and an egg. For the taste, I would said the home made sweet sauce is too sweet for my own liking although I eat together with the steam rice but my friend can accept it.
Smoked Duck Pizza- Rm38
We also ordered pizza from the menu and this smoked duck pizza is also one of the chef recommendation. This pizza consists of smocked duck with slide mushroom, cottage cheese, tomatoes with freshly grated parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese. From the ingredients list, can you feel the fats? Hahah! Yes its fattening based on the different type of cheese but the taste is nice and I like smoked duck, so this pizza are perfect to my liking.  

Not to mention, they also offer variety of pastries but we didn’t order any cause we are too full after the pizza.

Overall, Nippori Bistro serve great food and the environment is comfortable. I will be back for the breakfast and dessert. I recommend booking your table in advance to avoid disappointment.

My friend and I have been discussing about Apollo Dining, a new instagrammable restaurant at Jalan Kemaju, Bangsar. Finally I get a chance to visit this place with them after our working hour. At here, they served innovative fusion dishes using local ingredients. If you looking for a place for fine dining with affordable price, this place could be one your choice. 
                                         
Caser Salad with Crispy Egg Tofu - RM22
We start our meal by ordering two starter Caser Salad with Crispy Egg Tofu and American Scallop & Taro. The Caser Salad with crispy egg tofu consists of romain lettuce, soy milk caeser dressing, tempeh croutons, fried egg tofu, papadum, ricepaper and parmesan cheese. I would say not much difference compared to the regular ceaser salad. The only difference will be the soy milk dressing, which makes the salad healthier as compared to regular ceaser salad. Overall, taste is good and I like the tempeh, which crispy on the outside, dense and chewy on the inside
 American Scallop & Taro- RM35
Pumpkin & Leek Soup - RM18
I am a big fan of taro and the name American Scallop & Taro caught my attention. Not to mention, the dish didn't disappoint me. I like the combination of  scallop, taro croquette, caviar and citric jumpier hollandaise. Perfect match and intersting combination! In addition to that, we ordered their pumpkin &leek soup. I would say it's so creamy, satisfying, and full of flavor!
Rare Red Tuna - RM39
Chicken Percik Roulade - RM36
Thai Laksa Crab - RM48
For main, we ordered Rare Red Tuna, Chicken Percik Roudale and Thai Laksa Crab. Among the 3 dishes, I will go for Chicken Percik Roulade. The tender and juicy chicken meat served together with kerabu risotto and Percik sauce, will give an explosion of flavors in the mouth and happiness in the tummy. On the contrary, Rare Red Tuna and Thai Laksa Crab didn't meet my expectation. The texture of tuna is not creamy and soft enough for my liking. As for the Thai Laksa Crab, I would say lack of cohesion between the pasta and the laksa sauce. 
 Cempedak Nian Gao Fritters - RM18
This dessert reminds me about my favorite Chinese New Year crispy treat, which is fried Nian Gao fritters with taro and sweet potato. I would say this dessert is delicious and it goes really well with the coconut sorbet and gula melaka sauce. 
Overall, the restaurant offers a really nice environment and cozy ambience for gathering. It can definitely be a place for your anniversary celebration, birthday celebration with your loved ones with a romantic environment. As for the  food, the price is more on the high side and the portion is small. Reservation are highly recommended, as it's packed most of the days. Click here for reservation link.

Finding a good dining spot to hang out with friend? If YES, you definitely must pay a visit to this cozy setting Sunbather Cafe. A cafe that serves Yoshoku meals, which western food are modified with Japanese element. Here are some of the most popular yoshoku meals you can find in the menu such as tomato miso curry rice and chicken hambagu. They do serve variety of desserts, specialty Japanese tea, coffee and also non-caffeinated drinks. 
Ajitsuke Tamago Sando (RM20)
The one that caught me to visit Sunbather Coffer bar will be the Ajitsuke Tamago Sando. A compact size of  wholesome sandwich with thick slice of house-baked dark rye bread, sweet savory ramen egg, tomato, cheese, furikake and wasabi mayo for a mild kick. The combination of this sando will have your taste bug dancing and it's super filling. I can definitely say there would be no regrets by ordering this delicious sando. 
Spinach & Basil Pesto Spaghetti (RM25)
I am not a fans of basil due to the strong flavor of  but this spinach & basil pesto spaghetti totally change my mind of it. For this, the spinach takes the place of most of the basil to give the sauce an earthy flavor. Then, with combination of  garlicky chicken sausage mince it  delight my taste buds.

 Right- Iced Matcha Latte with hojicha kanten (RM14)
On the left, the purplish pink beverage is made a combination of housemade lavender syrup and fresh lemon juice. It is so refreshing and it claimed to be a natural remedy for headache and anxiety. 
  Iced Matcha Latte with hojicha kanten (RM14)
Iced matcha latte with hojicha kanten is one of the signature drink. For this drink, the hijocha kanten completed the matcha latte drink really well. At the same time, the hijocha kanten is fun to to chew and add texture to a drink without any overwhelming flavor.

Ever struggle to find a great breakfast spot in Kuala Lumpur? I had the same issue until Ra-Ft Café/Bistro showed up one day. Ra-ft Café is an Italian style café located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, at Binjai 8 Premium Soho. They serve freshly roasted coffee, all day breakfast as well as a great selection of classic Pastas, Salads and Burgers.

We kick-off our breakfast with RA-FT Breakfast - Our favourite "all in one" breakfast, which breakfast consists of home-made bread, butter mushrooms, baked beans, roasted tomatoes, streaky bacon, chicken or pork sausage, scrambled eggs or sunny side up and Ra-Ft smashed potatoes. It’s nothing short of a breakfast for kings.
首先,我们点了RA-FT "all in one"早餐,早餐包括RA-FT自家制的面包,蘑菇,烤豆,烤番茄,培根,鸡肉或猪肉香肠,西式炒蛋或太陽蛋以及Ra-Ft自制的土豆泥。"All in one"可以说是一道非常丰盛的早餐盘,真的有皇帝般享受的早餐。
Cream Cheese with Home-Cured Salmon Bagels 三文鱼配搭忌廉芝士贝果面包(RM21.50)
There are also wide selections of bagels where we tried out their cream cheese with home-cured salmon bagels. The salmons are cured with grated beetroot which gives it a slight purplish-red tint. The overall taste is good but I still prefer my royale egg benedict.
他们这儿也有售卖贝果面包搭配不同的配料。我们点了他们自家腌制的鮭魚(三文鱼)配搭忌廉芝士贝果面包。 图片红色鮭魚是因经过天然红色的甜菜根所腌制而成。 味道还不错,可是我更喜欢鮭魚口味的班尼迪克蛋(Royale Egg Benedict)。
Eggs Benedict Royale 鮭魚口味的班尼迪克蛋(RM29)
If you are a fans of egg benedict, then you’ll definitely enjoy Egg Benedict Royale. It is served with English muffin topped with home cured salmon, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. The combination of the cured salmon with the poached eggs creates an unforgettable sensation.
如果你是一个班尼迪克蛋的粉丝, 那你一定会喜欢他们鮭魚口味的班尼迪克蛋。这个班尼迪克蛋以新鲜的英式玛芬面包为底, 搭配上天然红色的甜菜根所腌制而成的红色鮭魚,水煮荷包蛋再淋上荷兰酱,简直完美,美味满分。
                                          
The Botanist  (RM23.50)
If you are a vegetarian, fret not as The Botanist will be the perfect choice for you. It's made with a combination of multigrain gluten free bread, broccoli, Kale, zucchini, pea sprouts, mash peas and poached egg . It's guilt free and fiber filled meal.
如果你是一个素食者, 不要担心,因为The Botanist 可以成为你的选择之一。一道以无麸质杂粮面包为底配搭西兰花,羽衣甘蓝,西葫芦,豆苗,豆泥和水煮荷包蛋。一道毫无罪恶感的高纤维美食。 
                                        
RA-FT Tiramisu (RM15)
Pancake stuffed with nutella (RM18)
No meal is ever complete without dessert. We had the Ra-Ft’s Tiramisu and Pancake stuffed with Nutella. The tiramisu is just perfect with a great balance between the cocoa powder and coffee. The pancake on the other hand is not overly sweet and is cooked to perfection, moist, fluffy and delicious. 
美好的一餐当然也少不了甜品啦!所以我们点了Ra-Ft’s提拉米苏和Nutella巧克力松饼。它们的提拉米苏很好吃,咖啡香配上濃濃的可可味以及淡淡的酒香,入口即化得来又不甜腻。另一方面,厚厚软软的巧克力松饼搭配浓纯的Nutella酱和巧克力粉毫无违和感,味道食而不腻,好吃!
                                         
Overall, it's a great place for food and coffee with excellent service and great ambiance. The price is reasonable given that it is located near to KLCC. Definitely will coming back for more.
总结来说,我一定会再回来尝试更多的菜品的餐厅。因为他们服务和环境都挺不错,咖啡和食物也算好吃。以他们的地点来说, 价格也算合理不会太贵。

My typical day mostly starts off by searching around KL for new restaurant to try out. BAIT Intermark pops up as one of the option and we decided to give it a try. The first Bait shop is located at Bangsar and was the brainchild over a conversation between 2 friends on the lack of seafood dining options around KL. Hence, Bait was established in hopes to cure the local cravings for fresh seafood from oysters to their open grill selections. Bait has expanded their business to The Intermark, located at Jalan Tun Razak which opens daily from 11am to 11pm, serving both lunch and dinner.
KL多数朋友的日常生活中最为普遍的一件事情就是寻找美食啦,在一系列美食餐厅里,位于吉隆坡的Bait餐厅就名列的出现了在名单里,所以我们就决定去试试看。 Bait餐厅的起源是由两位好朋友的闲聊所启发的,他们认为吉隆坡鲜少有以海鲜料理为名的餐厅,所以就成立了Bait. 在Bait,他们满足了每位顾客的需求,以新鲜的海鲜的食材比为主,店里最出名的食材无非就是生蚝啦!你可以选择生吃或到厨房烹煮都可以。 位于The Intermark  的Bait其实是第二间分店,第一间店则是坐落于Bangsar。 Intermark 分行的营业时间是11am-11pm,提供午餐和晚餐。
Prawn & Mango Salad (RM26) 芒果虾沙拉
Our meal started off with refreshing salad consisting of watercress, grilled prawn, indian mango with honey mustard dressing. The combination of the ingredients created a colourful and appetizing plate. Honey mustard dressing being one of my favourite dressings fell short on the taste, being a little too light for my liking. Nevertheless, the perfect combination between the ingredients paired incredibly well with the succulent grilled prawn, creating the perfect meal starter.
一道色彩鲜艳的沙拉作为我们的开胃菜。亮丽的色彩是又不同的食材如西洋菜,烤虾,印度芒果和蜂蜜芥末醬所搭配出的,看到简直让人眼前一亮,垂涎三尺。以一个非常喜欢蜂蜜芥末醬的我有所认为,搭配沙拉的蜂蜜芥末醬的味道不足。然而,鲜嫩多汁的烤虾搭配上西洋菜和鮮甜的印度芒果还是不错吃的!
                                           
Tagliatelle Alaskan King Crab (RM69) 阿拉斯加帝王蟹干面条
Next off, we had the house-made Tagliatella cooked with cream, white wine paired with an amazing onsen tamago and fresh Alaskan king crab flesh. The picture does not do the dish justice as the dish offers a great taste and flavour when combined with the Alaskan king crab flesh. The Tagliatella tasted smooth and springy when it is mixed together with the onsen tamago. The only downside is the price leans toward the higher end.
P.S. I personally feel that the portion of the Alaskan king crab could be a little more generous.
阿拉斯加帝王蟹干面条 - 一道以奶油,白酒,生蛋,餐厅自制的意大利干面条与阿拉斯加帝王蟹肉烹饪出的料理。吃了一口就足以满足你的味蕾,可以感到这碗卖相虽然有所平凡,价钱偏贵的面条绝非一般。鲜甜的阿拉斯加帝王蟹肉,生蛋和面的混合,使得面的口感更滑更顺口,而且还有一阵蟹肉的鲜甜飘散在嘴里。
P.S. 我个人认为阿拉斯加帝王蟹肉有点少。
Risotto Prawn (RM55) 意大利鲜虾炖饭
If you are a fan of risotto, I will recommend their prawn risotto. The risotto is made with kimchi paste, combining both Korean and Italian flavour in a single dish. The dish might sound a little outlandish, but the final combination between the two gives an amazing colour and rich flavour with perfect consistency and texture. This is truly a simple yet perfect dish paired with fresh and succulent prawns.
如果是为了意大利炖饭而来, 你必点他们颜色鲜艳和味道佳的意大利鲜虾炖饭。 一道以泡菜酱借力的韩式和意大利式炖饭, 浓郁的泡菜味飘散在具有嚼勁与弹Q的饭粒里,再搭上鲜美多汁的鲜虾的简单佳肴,可说是极度疯狂的佳肴搭配啊!
Paella Negra (RM75) 西班牙大鍋飯
The main highlight for the night was Paella Negra, which is a classic Spanish dish made with squid ink. The dish is cooked in a pan filled with rice, squid ink sauce, pepper, baby squid, shrimp and egg. It is recommended to squeeze some lemon juice and stir it evenly prior serving as it enhances the paella taste. I would suggest eating the paella with a dab of the creamy sauce, a mixture of olive oil, mayonnaise and butter. I personally find this dish delicious and appetizing; however, it is an acquired taste for some as the taste of squid ink might not be for everyone. 
西班牙大鍋飯是西班牙最地道的料理之一,一道以墨鱼汁闻名的佳肴。 墨鱼汁饭, 红椒,花枝, 虾与蛋花盛放在大锅里头。 我个人认为是一份特美味的料理,但不一定符合每个人的胃口,因为不是每个人都接受那股墨鱼汁的鲜味。 为了提升这道佳肴的味道,挤上柠檬汁,迅速搅拌均匀,再搭配上由橄榄油,美奶滋 和牛油特调而成的浓郁酱,味道简直一级棒啊!

Overall, we had a great time eating at Bait. The service was top-notch and the food was excellent. Even though the price is more on the high side, it is definitely worth it. The only downside I would say is their limited food choice.
总结来说,度过了一个美好的傍晚。虽然美食的价格有些许的昂贵,但我们还是认为餐厅的服务和食物还是不错的。唯一的不好就是食物的选择有点少。

If you recognize this The Original Lobster Rolls (Genting MemberRM138 / Non-member RM153 ), I guess you have been to Burger & Lobster, a UK chain restaurant located at Sky Avenue, Genting Highland. The first in Asia occupying 3,500 sq ft space, the 150-person capacity restaurant. They specializes in premium 650-700gm fresh Nova Scotian  lobsters from Canada, which are delivered weekly to the hilltop via KLIA.
如果你认的这个原味龙虾卷(云顶会员 RM138 / 非会员 RM153 ),你一定有去过在亚洲设立的第一家分店的英国连锁餐厅 Burger & Lobster。一间位于云顶 Sky Avenue 占地3500平方英尺, 能容納150人的餐厅。Burger & Lobster专门提供加拿大Nova Scotian的新鲜龙虾,重量约650至700gm新鲜龙虾, 每週一次通過KLIA運送到山頂。

The menu offers 3 different Lobster Rolls:
  • The Chilli (Genting Member RM95 / Non-member RM105 ) lobster rolls with their signature chilli sauce
  • The Original with Japanese mayo and 
  • Seven Sumarai (Genting Member RM95 / Non-member RM105 ) with seven spices sauce.
  • * All Lobster Rolls come with fries and salad
菜单里给顾客选择三种不同风味的龙虾卷 :
  • 香辣龙虾卷(云顶会员RM95 / 非会员 RM105 )搭配特色调味辣椒酱
  • 原味龙虾卷淋上日式沙拉酱
  • 七武士卷(云顶会员RM95 / 非会员 RM105)搭配七种风味独特的调味酱料
  • * 每份龙虾卷都会配上一份沙拉和薯条
For extra flavor drizzle some of lemon butter sauce on the roll, but personally I prefer without the sauce. The Original Lobster Roll gives me a satisfying burst of flavor and texture in every bite. If you are person want to avoid hassel and mess, Lobster Rolls will be a good choice as the lobster meat already remove from the shell and stuffed inside a brioche, buttered and toasted to crispy at the edges. 
淋上些许香甜的柠檬牛油酱,将可品尝到另一种风味龙虾卷,可是我本身更偏爱无酱料的龙虾卷。原味龙虾卷吃起来香味四溢,美奶滋的香甜融入饱满的龙虾肉里,口口都是龙虾香与幸福感啊!如果你是一个怕麻烦的人,龙虾卷是一个不错的选择,因为他们已经把所有的龙虾肉都塞在外脆内软的布里欧面包里。


Chilli Lobster (Genting MemberRM168 / Non-Member RM183), a signature dish created to cater Malaysian taste bud so it's only available at Genting Highland. It's served in a clay pot together with toasted brioche to dip into the gravy.  It is slightly spicy and sweet with a tint of sour which taste similar to our local sweet and sour crab. Even with the gravy, the lobster meat again was fresh and succulent. 
香辣龙虾(云顶会员 RM168 / 非会员 RM183), 一道为了迎合马来西亚人的喜好特别研发的,所以只可以在云顶找到! 将香辣龙虾装在一个砂锅里和布里欧面包一起呈上。辣味刚刚好而带甜和一点微酸的酱汁就犹如本地的酸甜螃蟹。而且酱汁完全不会抢镜龙虾的鲜甜配搭上布里欧面包,堪称完美!看着砂锅里沸腾的香浓龙虾,空气中弥漫出让人垂涎三尺的香气,美食范十足啊!

There's no better way to enjoy lobster at their most original flavor, The Original (Genting Member RM153/Non-Member RM168) it can be either steamed or grilled. Each order is accompanied with salad, fries and clarified butter or B&L’s famous lemon & garlic butter sauce. Personally, I preferred the steamed lobster, as it's a better way to enjoy the original sweetness, freshness and juiciness of this premium seafood. With the dipping sauce it flavored up the steam lobster. 
原味龙虾 (云顶会员RM153 / 非会员 RM168), 一道非吃不可的佳肴 ! 原味龙虾,味道纯正,是道让你最能品尝到龙虾本身的滋味与鲜味的佳肴,原味龙虾有两种煮法,可以选择蒸还是烤。每份原味龙虾除了有薯条和沙拉之外,你也可以选择牛油酱汁或是B&L最著名的柠檬蒜味牛油酱汁。 我个人选择了蒸龙虾,因为我认为更能真真品尝到龙虾的鲜甜和肉质的层次感与弹性。搭配上酱汁更提升了龙虾的味道。 
Overall, it was a worth visit for the fresh lobster although the price is slightly expensive. But I guess it's fine to treat yourself or family a luxury seafood meal once in a while. Not to mention, I like the lobster roll. So Yummy! 
整体来说,虽然价钱有点偏贵,但无可否认还是一间值得拜访的餐厅。久久一次,慰劳自己或者家人一场豪华的盛宴也是不错的!所有的食物里,我个人最喜欢龙虾卷,太好吃了!
